‘Arrow’ Season 5 Flashbacks: Talia Al Ghul’s Appearance Might Hint A Family Reunion; 16th Episode Title Revealed
The appearance of Talia al Ghul (Lexa Doig) in Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) Russian past in "Arrow" Season 5 is a big puzzle for the avid fans. However, the show's producers promised that her emergence won't have a negative effect but might hint an incoming reunion.
"Arrow" Season 5 episode 11 titled "Second Chances" official synopsis has already been released and it revealed Talia's appearance in Oliver's Russian flashbacks. From here, some will question why Oliver doesn't know her coming or even the League of Assassins until the show's second season as the show is known for bringing in recollections. Also, a lot wonders why he never brought up to Ra's (Matt Nable) or Nyssa (Katrina Law) that he met Talia.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Arrow" Season 5 executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that he has an answer to the mind-boggling appearance of Talia. He perfectly knows that the followers of the action crime television series will start to doubt this side of the story, thus they have an explanation that will be unfolded in the coming episodes. He also addressed the assumptions that there will be a family reunion between the al Ghuls.

Guggenheim went on to explain that they are not yet planning to bring Talia and Nyssa in an episode of "Arrow" Season 5. But they are not yet closing doors as he described that the two are close and different enough that he would love to a story involving the two. Meanwhile, the 46-year-old television producer also teased the show's upcoming 16th episode and gave a glimpse of its title page, Comic Book reported.
Titled "Checkmate," Guggenheim guaranteed that the upcoming "Arrow" Season 5 episode won't be about the spy agency ran by Maxwell Lord and Amanda Waller in the comics before. Although there is a hint that its content will be about the undercover agents, it is more likely that it is a reference to the team's battle with Prometheus.
