The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching and the players who speculated to move are growing. The latest additions who have cropped as of late include Ricky Rubio of the Minnesota Timberwolves, P.J. Tucker of the Phoenix Suns and Reggie Jackson of the Detroit Pistons.

Ricky Rubio is a name that comes to no surprise considering he has been mentioned even before the 2016-17 NBA season started. A lot of this has to do with the transition of Zach LaVine and selection of rookie Kris Dunn, someone tagged to be the T-Wolves future at the point. Even before Dunn’s selection, LaVine was seen to man the point guard position, easing out the Spanish star.

The latest NBA trade news involving Rubio was with the Detroit Pistons where he would swap places with Reggie Jackson. The Pistons have sputtered since a hot start this season. Jackson was not around during that run and his return has not exactly panned out for head coach Stan Van Gundy. With the NBA trade deadline fast approaching, a Rubio for Jackson trade was teased though Van Gundy set his foot down to douse all the speculations.

According to Van Gundy, there were indeed discussions, but was nothing new. But as far as a Jackson for Rubio deal is concerned, there is no truth to the matter as mentioned in a report by ESPN. Aside from Jackson and Rubio, P.J. Tucker of the Phoenix Suns is another player now in the air. The Los Angeles Clippers have offered a second-round pick for the 31-year-old veteran, but the Phoenix Sun want a first-rounder instead, Forbes reported.

The Suns apparently know the value of Tucker and believe they can strike a better deal with other teams over the Clips. The NBA trade deadline will be on Feb. 23, 2017, meaning there could be more developments on these latest speculations. There are other names looming such as Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor and Rajon Rondo, who could be changing zip codes next month.
