‘Scream Queens’ Season 3 Renewal Still In Consideration, Poor Ratings Might Affect Its Return
A month after the second season of "Scream Queens" ends, fans are still waiting for the renewal of "Scream Queens" Season 3. It has been said that the show's poor ratings might affect its return, thus the Fox executives Gary Newman and David Madden talked about its future at the Television Critics Association press tour.
Newman and Madden updated the fans of the comedy horror television series revealing that "Scream Queens" Season 3 renewal is still in consideration. Although they didn't confirm anything about its return, they revealed that they are satisfied with its young demo. They, too, addressed the anthology's poor ratings explaining that the numbers don't define its whole story, Variety reported.
The show's target audience is the young ones, thus the whole result is not evident even in L+3. In fact, aside from "Scream Queens" Season 3, they still haven't announced the renewal of "Pitch" and "The Exorcist." Newman explained that Fox might not reveal its decision for the show's possible return until late 2017.
If "Scream Queens" Season 3 comes back, of course, they would love to see it rake in good ratings, though it already established the support of the hard-to-reach younger audience that they admittedly love. According to Unreality TV, the Fox executives then assured fans that they still have to patiently wait for their official announcement that might also see the return of the original cast.
Certainly, this includes Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis and John Stamos all back on the small screen. Newman also added that they will still check what the show's needs are before they officially announced its return. Its proactive fans, on the other hand, have been eager to see its comeback and made different attempts to persuade Fox to renew "Scream Queens" Season 3. In fact, they even started a petition online for the network to hear their cries.
