iOS 10.2 Jailbreak Latest News & Update: Apple Continues To Bury Pangu With New iOS 10.2.1
Apple has rolled out another update with the release of iOS 10.2.1. The latest iteration comes with the expected security fixes, something iOS 10 has been plagued with so far. Other than that, the Cupertino company is expected to update the versions that will be signed soon.
According to the official security page for iOS 10.2.1, under-the-hood kernel improvements and bugs tied up to the Auto Unlock to an Apple Watch lead the changes to be expected. There is no mention of a fix for the dreaded 30-percent battery bug, supporting the claim that this is just another minor update, Forbes reported. However, that also means hackers need to go back to the drawing board to try and crack the Apple code once more.
iOS 10.2 has yet to get a stable update though independent hackers like Lucas Todesco already gave a semi-tethered jailbreak with the iOS 10.1.1 jailbreaking tool. Stefan Esser mentioned a team working on an iOS 10.2 jailbreak but nothing has come out in the open. As far as Pangu is concerned, most are speculations with nothing to show.
As before, the only bright side is that the Chinese hacking group is reportedly working on an iOS 10.2. With the release of iOS 10.2.1, that makes it useless and limited to folks who have yet to update to the recently rolled out patch. The longer Pangu waits render their efforts futile as Apple continues its aggressive push to thwart cracks and exploits to its mobile operating system, 9 to 5 Mac reported.
Looking ahead, Pangu may have fallen far behind to come up with a working crack. Though most still consider the Chinese hacking group a reliable source of useful iOS jailbreaks, their inability to come out with timely cracks have relegated them behind independent hackers. At some point, an iOS 10.2 jailbreak will crop up though Pangu may not be the one credited for it.
