‘X-Men’ TV Show: Matt Nix Talks About Characters Coming; Bryan Singer To Direct First Episode
As the "X-Men" TV show is about to hit the FX network, the comic enthusiasts are now wondering who among the mutants are going to be seen. The show will be under the supervision of Matt Nix, the 45-year-old producer talked about his take on the live-action program.
In an interview with CNET (via Comic Book), Matt Nix proudly said it is going to be a kill. The writer told the publication that they would literally kill him, although he refused to give any hint about it. He just said that things about the "X-Men" TV show are somewhat in the air and as he can't say anything about it yet is already a subtle hint.
He also added that it is enough to say that the show will have some characters that fans will surely be excited about. However, Matt Nix explained that he can't point who exactly these characters are, but there will be definitely a known mutant in it. Moreover, Bryan Singer already signed in to direct the upcoming "X-Men" TV show.
Its premiere episode pickup was recently announced by Fox and the 51-year-old film director is set to co-executive produced it with Nix, who will also write the upcoming untitled action-adventure pilot, according to Variety. The "X-Men" TV show will be about the two common parents who will learn that their kids have a different kind of mutant powers.
To escape the unfavorable government, they will be forced to join an underground group of mutants and must find out how to fight to survive. For the record, this is Fox's second Marvel TV project as Marvel TV and FX productions already co-produced "Legion," which will officially air on Feb. 8. It has been known that Fox and FX own 21st Century Fox and have the exclusive television and film right to the X-Men characters. It also has a venerable licensing deal with Marvel.
