WWE 2017 Latest News & Updates: Royal Rumble 2017 Winner Won't Be Among Brock Lesnar, Goldberg Or The Undertaker
The Royal Rumble 2017 is finally here in what promises to be an impressive collection of WWE superstars hoping to book a ticket to Wrestlemania 33. The clear favorites are Brock Lesnar, Bill Goldberg, and the Undertaker though the last man standing may not be among the three behemoths.
The three shared the ring at WWE Raw but nothing physical really happened. Rather, it was more of a psyche job among Goldberg, Lesnar and the Undertaker, saving their strength against 27 other protagonists hoping to cash in and possibly become WWE heavyweight champion in April. Of the mix, Goldberg and Lesnar are not expected to win the Royal Rumble 2017. Both are expected to clash one more time and this will be a WWE Fastlane.
There are suggestions that it could take place at Wrestlemania 33. The latest on that, however, is that Lesnar will be facing Braun Strowman at Wrestlemania 33, Wrestlezone suggested. Speaking of Strowman, there are also feelers that he could end up feuding with the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33.
In a previous episode of WWE Raw where Undertaker declared himself for the Royal Rumble, Strowman was one of the ones keeping a close watch. So far, both have not crossed paths, but all that could change at the Alamodome this Sunday. If Undertaker vs. Strowman is booked, the man-mountain stands to benefit from it all as mentioned in a previous post. But then again, there is the question of fan interest.
So if Goldberg, Lesnar, and Undertaker are not expected to win at the Royal Rumble, who could possibly be the last survivor. Sami Zayn, someone who got in at the expense of Seth Rollins could be a candidate. The former NXT champion has been hit for being a softie and all of that could be part of a big push. If so, which title would he pursue? The WWE Raw Universal title or the WWE SmackDown heavyweight title?
