‘The 100’ Season 4 Inside Scoop: Jason Rothenberg Teases Azgeda & Trikru's Bipolar Relationship, Showrunner Reveals Parallelism To Real World
"The 100" season 4 premiere looms ahead and for the past eight months, fans have been trying to squeeze in as much information as they can about the upcoming season. The latest interview with Jason Rothenberg teases Azgeda and Trikru's bipolar relationship in the upcoming season.
Jason Rothenberg sat down with Screener recently to discuss the different interesting points in "The 100" season 4. The forthcoming season will pick up the consequences of destroying the City of Light, which oddly kept the world at peace. With the impending apocalypse looming ahead, one would think that this would unite the different factions the remaining survivors made. However, with the Grounders, nothing is as simple as that according to Rothenberg.
When asked how "The 100" season 4 deal with the death of Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey), the showrunner explained that the main conflict on the ground sprung from the bipolar relationship between Azgeda and Trikru. He likened the situation during the cold war, where each possesses a certain kind of power that one is forced to aligned with. Now that this alignment is broken, they find themselves revisiting old conflicts and animosities. Particularly the Skaikru, who found themselves in the middle of the conflict. The Sky people are tasked to be the keepers of the secret and be the saviors of the world.
Meanwhile, a separate interview with TV Line discussed the similarities of "The 100" season 4 setup to the real world. With ongoing news about ecological catastrophes, one can't help but feel like living out The CW series. However, Jason Rothenberg said that any similarity to events or people is purely coincidental. He pointed out that some writers like to dramatize the current issues in the real world and there may be some parallelism in some aspect.
Jason Rothenberg showed viewers how the Earth strikes back and in reality, that's something that people should be worried about sooner or later. Catch "The 100" season 4 on Wednesday, February 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. Stay tuned to get the latest updates on your favorites shows!
