Samsung Galaxy S8 Latest News & Update: Upcoming Flagship To Have Bigger 3,250 mAh Battery

The battery problem for Samsung is still in the air but a possibly bigger one for the Samsung Galaxy S8 could calm down the storm. With the Korean company already clearing the air on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery explosion problem, most are hoping it will not replicate with Samsung’s new plethora of devices for 2017.

The next big device expected is the Samsung Galaxy S8 which may come out later than expected. The anticipated 2017 variant will not be among the new devices debuting at the Mobile World Congress 2017 with Samsung kicking off production in March with an official release speculated to be in April, CNet reported.

With a bit more to wait on, most want to know what the Samsung Galaxy S8 has to offer. A previous post mentioned several of the specs such as the touted “Bixby” voice assistant, possibly a Qualcomm Snapdragon 935 or Exynos 8895 chipset, 8 GB of RAM and S-Pen Stylus. At that time, there was no word on what battery to expect – until now.

A new report has popped out courtesy of itcle.com claiming that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be equipped with a 3,250 mAh battery while the Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge will tote a bigger 3,750 mAh battery. If true, these would be slight bumps to the batteries that the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Plus had (3,000 and 3,600 mAh respectively), Sam Mobile reported. All this has yet to be confirmed though bumping up the battery capacity would make a lot of sense.

As most have known, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 debacle was blamed on the features that may have been too much for its battery to handle. With the Samsung Galaxy S8 expected to showcase another round of new features, bumping up the battery capacity should address consumer fears of potential overloading and possible fire-rendering issues.
