'Supergirl' Season 2 News & Update: Teri Hatcher Returns to DC, Enlists 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' Star Rachel Bloom For Music

It's going to be an exciting next couple of months for "Supergirl" season 2, as it beefs up its cast for part two of its sophomore season. Aside from the highly anticipated musical crossover episode, it seems that the show isn't done bringing back DC alums to the small screen.

Viewers previously saw Lynda Carter play POTUS on "Supergirl," and now, another DC alum will come to the show before "Supergirl" season 2 ends. Teri Hatcher returns to DC is the latest news surrounding the show, and in preparation for the musical crossover episode, the show enlists "Crazy Ex-girlfriend star Rachel Bloom for music.

According to Deadline, Teri Hatcher returns to DC in a secret role for "Supergirl" season 2. The actress, who previously played the role of Lois Lane in ABC's "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" is making her way to The CW. But instead of playing someone on Superman/Supergirl's team, it seems that she's on the opposite side of the fence this time. The report indicates that the actress will play not just a villain, but a "Big Bad" in "Supergirl" season 2--and that's two capital B's.

Meanwhile, as Teri Hatcher returns to DC, it seems that "Supergirl" season 2 is already gearing up for the highly anticipated musical crossover episode. In fact, the show enlists "Crazy Ex-girlfriend" star Rachel Bloom for music for the upcoming episode airing in March. According to IGN, Bloom is teaming up with Robot Chicken's Tom Root to pen a track called "Superfriends."

In addition to "Crazy Ex-girlfriend" star Rachel Bloom, "Supergirl" season 2 has also enlisted the help of "La La Land" songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who are nominated for Academy Awards. The duo penned a song titled "Runnin' Home to You" for the musical crossover episode aptly titled "Duet." The "Supergirl"/"The Flash" musical crossover episode is set to air this March.
