A new mom, who woke up ten days after she has already given birth, described the experience as a shocking moment for her. She was put in a coma by doctors after a stroke during her 37 weeks of pregnancy.

Ciara Murray, a 33-year-old mother from Enniskellen, Northern Ireland, went through a three-hour-long surgery to remove a clot on her brain and an emergency Caesarean section after. Her son James was delivered on October 30, 2015 and weighed 5lb 5oz. Doctors kept her in an induced coma after the operation to give enough time for recovery.

Ten days after, Ciara said they didn't tell her before the surgery that she was going to give birth. When the nurse told her she had a baby she didn't believe it. Her husband John brought baby James to her and she said it was just amazing.

According to Daily Mail, John took James home without Ciara as she needed intense rehab to regain feeling in her left side. John was dedicated to make sure they spent time as a family every day. He drove three hours for 160 miles round trip from their home to County Fermanagh to Belfast every day.

Mirror reported, after a month at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Ciara transferred to a hospital in Enniskillen for more intense rehab near their home. She had to see James twice a day but soon had to return to Musgrave Park Hospital in Belfast for the next stage treatment.

Ciara was released April 29, 2016, she returned home to her six-month-old baby. It was a challenge as she had to learn how to change a diaper using only one hand since she couldn't use the other. She had support from a local stroke group helped her to learn how to live with the effects of stroke.

James is now 15 months and did not appear to suffer any impact from the stroke. Doctors still don't know what caused the stroke said Ciara. But she ispleased that they are both doing okay.
