Know Why 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Is The Best On Its Storytelling
"Mad Max: Fury Road" can be considered a hit when it was released in 2015. The movie was very special as the story can still be understood even when there is a lot of scenes without dialogue.
Kwame Opam, described the film as "particularly special". Opam also added that the movie hold up well to scrutiny and even though there are "quiet" scenes or scenes without dialogue, Mad "Max: Fury Road" director, George Miller, made sure that the film will tell the story even with just the audio and the visuals.
According to The Verge, Lindsay Ellis, a video essayist, stated that the idea behind the "plants" (setups) and payoffs is to introduce a concept in the ongoing story and these "plants and payoffs" are something that is essential to the story and the characters. In "Mad Max: Fury Road", Ellis explains that Max's boot and blood tube and even the War Boys' chrome mouth spray that were planted in the story effectively exposed how the world works in the story and what Max, Furiosa and the Wives were trying to getaway from. She also added that the film demonstrated a great visual storytelling that film makers these days are getting wrong.
Dan Olsen, a cinematographer and a YouTuber, scrutinized the film "Suicide Squad" and stated that the movie's editing was messed up including the planting and payoff. Olsen stated as reported in IMDB, said that "Suicide Squad" failed to payoff what it planted and ruined what was well-established in the film's universe.
"Mad Max: Fury Road" was released in 2015. The film was set in an apocalyptic planet, where humanity is broken and everyone fights to survive. Two rebels named Max and Furiosa, might be the people needed to restore order. Max seeks peace of mind after the death of his wife and child while Furiosa wants to get back to her childhood homeland because she believes that survival will be possible if she makes it there. Max then helps Furiosa in search of their homeland while trying to protect them and himself from Immortal Joe's gang of ruthless marauders.
