LG G6 Soon To Be Available in The U.S. Market, Waterproof LG Is Expected
The LG G6 is expected to debut on February 26 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain but the flagship phone will not be available on the US market until April 7. Here's all the details you need to know.
LG G6 specs
Tech Radar reported that the new LG flagship phone will have a glass or metal body that contrasts with the LG G5's aluminum one. The LG G6 dimensions are 148.8 x 72.3 x 8.3 mm, making it similar to the G5's size but "marginally thicker". The first teaser video for the phone model had a word "waterproof". therefore a water tight design can be expected for this model.
According to The Verge, the LG G6 is rumored to have a 5.7-inch QHD LCD display with an ultra-wide 18:9 aspect ratio. The screen has a pixel density of 564 pixels per inch. Apparently, the screen will also be 30 percent less power consuming than previous LG QHD displays. It will also have smaller bezels, upgraded touch performance and it will be easier to view even in direct sunlight.
The camera is said to be just like the LG G5 with dual lens snapper with both standard and wide angles but expect improvements like higher megapixel count or greater optical zoom. The battery was rumored to be removable. LG has confirmed that they are using heat pipes to pull away heat from the battery and other essential components and to avoid overheating.
The LG G6 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 chipset instead of the latest 835. Samsung is apparently hoarding the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset to use it for Samsung Galaxy 8. The LG G6 will also run on Android 7 Nougat.
LG G6 other features
Other features of the phone reportedly include fast wireless charging, a headphone port, a USB Type C port for charging, and a fingerprint scanner. A wireless charging transmission module was announced by LG after the G5's revelation. The charging module is said to increase battery charge up to 50 percent in 30 minutes. The LG G6 will be released in South Korea on March 9 and April 7 in the US with a price tag of $500-$600.
