Microsoft Teases New Windows 10 Project Neon; Here's What Changed In Design
Microsoft is planning to upgrade Windows 10 and its user interface, anticipated to be coming this year. It shows a glimpse of the promising design language of Project Neon. Microsoft is giving a quick look at Windows 10 Project Neon in a Windows Developer Day live stream.
Microsoft Windows 10 Project Neon: what's new with the design?
Last year, according to Engadget, it was said that Project Neon has reported the UI (user interface) upgrade for Windows 10. It will also feature a user interface that will upgrade to smooth transitions in all of its UI components. Microsoft will be launching a new component which is called the "Acrylic". It visually blurs in the background, sidebar or the navigation. It is called to be the "Side-Nav Acrylic", "Background Acrylic" and "In-App Acrylic".
These work with the Conscious UI and Connected Animations. Microsoft has a demo Conscious UI in the Groove Music app where the Side-Nav Acrylic changes, depending on what is behind the current app. It also has a new concept design for Outlook Mail and Calendar app with the blurred background and a consistent design guideline.

Microsoft Windows 10 Project Neon: additional details
Windows 10 Project Neon will be focusing mainly on animation, simplicity and consistency. It will also include Microsoft 3D and the HoloLens software. With this interaction, pointing over a navigation item shows a backdrop to make it feel a natural interaction. On HoloLens, the background color will follow your gaze or the HoloLen's clicker.
Project Neon is expected to fit on all of Windows 10 devices, like the Windows 10 mobile, the HoloLens and Xbox. Moreover, Microsoft is hoping that Neon will be on some of Microsoft's own apps with the release of Redstone 3.
Microsoft is expected to release the detail of Windows 10 Project Neon on the Build Developer's Conference this May, as reported by The Verge. Want more of the trending tech news? Stay tuned for more updates!
