Charlie Hunnam 2017: 'Sons Of Anarchy' Star Reportedly Abandons 'Zoe' Romance Flick For 'Papillion' Remake
The Charlie Hunnam scheduling curse has striked again. The "Sons of Anarchy" alum has recently bowed out of the romance flick "Zoe", which also stars Bond Girl Léa Seydoux. Although this isn't something new in the career of the "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" star, it also had fans wondering why Hunnam has decided to step away from the promising project. Is it possible that the "Lost City of Z" actor wants to focus on the upcoming remake of Steve McQueen's classic film "Papillion"?
Charlie Hunnam has had a long history of walking away from movies in the middle of production. The "Sons of Anarchy" star had previously opted out of "Fifty Shades of Grey", which frantically had to recast its Christian Grey with Jamie Dornan. Hunnam has also confirmed that he was initially set to appear in "Pacific Rim: Uprising" but decided to bow out due to "scheduling conflicts". Did it happen yet again with "Zoe" as the new King Arthur chose to work on "Papillion" this year?

Tommy Flanagan, who is also set to appear in the remake of the Dustin Hoffman film, has recently tweeted an image of his "Papillion" costars Charlie Hunnam and "Mr. Robot" Season 3 actor Rami Malek. The picture certainly confirms that the "Sons of Anarchy" lead is currently busy filming for a new project. However, Hunnam has yet to address whether he chose to work on the remake rather than "Zoe" with Léa Seydoux.
It's certainly a disappointment that Charlie Hunnam cannot commit to a romance film, but fans can rest assured that Léa Seydoux has found a talented new costar for "Zoe". According to Entertainment Weekly, Ewan McGregor has signed on to the movie and will replace Hunnam in the lead role.
