‘Pokemon Go’ Gen 2 Latest News & Update: Make Way For 80 New Pocket Monsters, Features This Weekend

The much awaited “Pokemon Go” Gen 2 update may be days away with Niantic announcing rollout, which will include more than 80 pocket monsters. All these will reportedly be part of the 0.57.2 update of the Android APK plus more.

The 80+ new critters set to append “Pokemon Go” players Pokedex will come from the Johto region. This is perhaps the biggest update to be rolled out to date, something that will also include new features such as new evolutions and a reworked encounter/ capture system, Forbes reported. This may have something to do with a new Pokeball called “Masterball”, presumably one up over the current “Ultraball” that most have been using.

As far as the new monsters to expect for “Pokemon Go”, it brings back into the fray the celebrated Shiny Pokemon”. The possibility of seeing these new breed of critters came about, thanks to dataminers. Among the FX spotted include “Play Shiny”, “Shiny Spawn”, “Support Shiny” and “Sparkly”, curious coding terms that most may want to watch out for. New rewards are also coming to “Pokemon Go” and this includes “Medal Reward”, “In-app Purchase” and “Level Reward”.

It should be noted that these new perks are different from the badges currently seen on the AR game. Either way, the initiative is simple for “Pokemon Go” players, play to level up and reap the rewards, Slash Gear reported. Baby Pokemon characters are expected as well, something that could be curiously shown in a different way for “Pokemon Go” player avatars.

Some critters may be left out from the 80+ Pokemon reportedly invading the hit AR game. These could be one of the eight babies or one of the six Legendary/Mythic pocket monsters. Niantic is still working on these ultra-rare creatures, though they will most likely appear only during special events at first. The word out is that the change to “Pokemon Go” will happen on the Feb. 18 so AR gamers are advised to be on their heels.
