NBA Trade 2017 Latest News & Update: Taj Gibson Steady, Ready For Potential Departure From Chicago

Chicago Bulls veteran bruiser Taj Gibson is no stranger to NBA trade talk. His name has frequently been mentioned in the past and the same thing is happening as we speak. With the NBA trade deadline (Feb. 23) coming up, the 31-year-old forward is ready for anything – including possibly donning a new uniform by next week.

Rather than sulk, Taj Gibson takes it all in stride. He approaches NBA trade talks a different way, summing it all up by saying that he may end up with a different team with different pay but still stay in the league. In short, it is all about simply moving to a team that recognizes his potential and has use fro his expertise according to CSN Chicago.

One potential destination for Taj Gibson would have been the Toronto Raptors. But as most know by now, Serge Ibaka beat him to it. The Raptors gave up Terence Ross and a 2017 first-round pick in exchange for the Congolese-Spanish player, NBA.com reported. With that deal consummated, Gibson stays on with the Bulls for now.

Given his experience and what he can do, Gibson is expected to draw interest from other teams in the coming days. In fact, it won’t be surprising if Chicago is already in discussions (in secrecy) with other teams in need of a veteran forward like him. In a way, Gibson admits that he and Carmelo Anthony are dealing with something similar. Rather than worry about his next stop, he has to act that nothing is bothering him and stay focused.

Such is easier said than done but Taj Gibson has been around to know the business side of being in the NBA. Either way, he is ready to move when (and if) a trade is closed. All Gibson wants is to play and contribute, something he intends to do for now with the Chicago Bulls, NBC Sports reported.
