Reggie Jackson is back in NBA trade talks with the Detroit Pistons reportedly in discussions with the Orlando Magic. With the NBA trade deadline set for Feb. 23, it remains to be seen if this will go down or once again be rescinded by head coach Stan Van Gundy.

Previously, NBA traded talk involving the 26-year-old guard was doused by Van Gundy. This was the one involving the Minnesota Timberwolves where Ricky Rubio was involved, ESPN reported. At that time, SVG said that they were keeping Jackson, despite the Pistons struggles. Since returning from a knee and thumb injury, Detroit has been erratic. They are currently sitting at the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference with the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat in striking distance.

As far as the Reggie Jackson trade is concerned, the Pistons are reportedly being offered D.J. Augustin and Jeff Green in exchange. With consideration to the $80 million deal that Jackson carries, another player may need to be inserted to make the transaction work. The Magic technically becomes the third team tied up to Reggie Jackson trade talks.

After the Timberwolves, the New Orleans Pelicans also expressed interest. Talks bogged down and now the Magic are in pursuit. If successful, adding Reggie Jackson would follow up their previous deal involving Serge Ibaka. Orlando dealt the veteran forward to the Toronto Raptors a couple of days ago in exchange for Terrence Ross and a draft pick.

The Pistons admit that things have been rough since Reggie Jackson returned. Some players have reportedly been frustrated, including best friend Andre Drummond. When Jackson was out due to injury, Ish Smith was calling the plays, the Detroit Free Press reported. Somehow, the change of guards has been hurting the Pistons and thus resulting in a potential trade deal. The next couple of days will be interesting with anticipated trade deals for teams beefing up for the NBA playoffs.
