"Outlander" star Caitriona Balfe recently teased why she feels her and Sam Heughan's characters, Jamie and Claire will have a great reunion. Meanwhile, the production team of "Outlander" Season 3 wrapped up filming in Scotland and is now in South Africa to shoot the scenes over there.

Balfe Reveals Interesting Details about "Outlander" Season 3

ET caught up with the star actress recently while she was at the Oscar Wilde Awards 2017 this Thursday night (Feb. 23). Fans of the popular Starz drama must be aware by now that "Outlander" Season 3 is not likely to premiere before September this year.

The actress told the outlet, "Yeah, [the Droughtlander] is a little longer than I think people thought." Balfe sounded apologetic for the delay while she shared her thoughts. She added, "I think this season is going to be really interesting and it's going to be so new again." However, she also mentioned that they try to make every season exciting and different. In the previous season, they shot scenes in Paris, which was again something distinct.

Balfe stated, "This season, we start off with a little bit of a separate storyline, which is really fun for us. We're hoping the fans will be as happy." Viewers who have not yet got the opportunity to read Diana Gabaldon's "Voyager", the third book in the series, will find that the journey of the upcoming season will start with Jamie and Claire being separated by different timelines.

Though "Outlander" stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe will be initially separated on screen, the actress feels that the reunion of their character in the much-hyped print shop as well as their adventures will be really worth this long wait. Balfe said that after Jamie and Claire's great reunion, they go to South Africa, though, in the story, the location is Jamaica.

The filming of the series is going at full speed. "Outlander" stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are currently filming for season 3. The stars teased that they have reached South Africa, along with their other team members, after bidding farewell to Scotland, The Siver Times reported. The duo even shared a video on social media, teasing their arrival in South Africa.
