While the premiere date of Netflix's "Jessica Jones" is still about a year away, it promises to be an action-packed second installment with romance and big surprises. Get to know if Luke Cage will still be seen in the upcoming season.
"Jessica Jones" Season 2: Luke Cage May Return To Continue Relationship With Jessica
While "Jessica Jones" has got a green light for the second time, Netflix's original series is not expected to return to television screens before 2018. Even Krysten Ritter admitted in the past that filming for season 2 will only begin after the studio is done with "The Defenders." However, despite this, spoilers have been teasing that fans would see Luke Cage (Mike Colter) return to continue his relationship with Jessica in the upcoming season.
Viewers will remember that the duo was romantically involved until the time Luke thought Jessica killed Reva (Parisa Fitz-Henley), his wife. But, it was revealed later on that it was Killgrave (David Tennant) who had killed Reva. He was using Jessica by controlling her mind.
Melissa Rosenberg, the showrunner of the series, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter last year about the fate of Luke and Jessica's relationship. She said that the show is not about their love story. Rather, the character of Luke was brought in so that Jessica's personality would gain more prominence.
The showrunner added that the backstory of Luke was revealed to let viewers know why Jessica was going through an emotional turmoil. But Rosenberg did not confirm whether Luke Cage will be seen again in "Jessica Jones" Season 2 or not, though she teased a possibility of his return.
"Jessica Jones" Series Had Different Title When It Started
