It's been quiet in the "Mafia 3" front since the game was released to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC last October. The latest iteration in the "Mafia" franchise from Hangar 13 received mixed reviews, but earned praise for its story and characters. The latest news surrounding the action-adventure video game is that Hangar 13 denies racist content as fans await DLC coming this month.

Previously, GameSpot reported that "Mafia 3" will receive three story expansions this year, with the first arriving this month. As fans await DLC coming this month, gamers should know that the first one will be titled "Faster, Baby!" and will feature speedy cars, dramatic car chases, and jaw-dropping stunt driving. In the first DLC, gamers will need to bring down a corrupt sheriff in the outskirts of New Bordeaux. As the story of "Mafia 3" has been praised by many, Hangar 13 denies racist content in the game.

According to Gamasutra, who spoke to Hangar 13 narrative director William Harms, "Mafia 3" doesn't intentionally include racist content, however, it had to be addressed "as part of Lincoln's world." The game's main protagonist, Lincoln Clay, is an African-American living in the south in the 1960s, which means he's definitely going to face racism issues. Harms presses though, that "the game's story is not about racism."

As Hangar 13 denies racist content in "Mafia 3," Harms explains that it is instead what he called a "revenge story." The game smartly takes place in 1968, during which Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy were murdered. It was also a historically turbulent time, with the Vietnam war well underway.

Harms also explained that they decided to make a documentary-style story out of the game, the success of which was reflected in the way the story was well-received. Hangar 13's "Mafia 3" will receive its "Faster, Baby!" DLC this March, followed by two more DLC's in May and June.
