UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos Desperate To Fight Conor McGregor; Here's Why
Former UFC Lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos is reportedly "desperate" to get in the UFC ring with Conor McGregor. Get to know if the two champions will be able to fight each other this year.
It seems like fans will not see a fight from Conor McGregor and Rafael dos Anjos anytime soon in the UFC ring. However, the Brazilian champion seems to be cooking another great deal inside the ring.
UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos Ready To Fight
A recent report from MMA Junkie revealed that Rafael dos Anjos is busy in getting himself ready for another fight. He is currently waiting for his next opponent, which is why he chose to train with the great boxing coach, Freddie Roach.
“I am taking this time to sharpen my skills and improve even more as a fighter,” dos Anjos shared in an interview. “Life is hard; you have to learn every day. If you don’t improve, your opponents will. So I am doing my part to be ahead of the game.” He even stated that he is ready to fight anyone at anytime. He wants to prove that he is still one of the best fighters in the UFC.
A previous report from Sports Joe suggested that Rafael dos Anjos also wanted to fight Conor McGregor's opponent, Nate Diaz and Robbie Lawler in the UFC ring. However, he stated that these requests were denied.
"I do not like to challenge people. I am not the type of guy to call anybody out," he previously said. "I have had 32 fights and I have always fought everybody. After these fights, I go from 100 to 0. So it was hard for me to go home and look at these [other] fights."
No UFC Match Between Rafael dos Anjos And Conor McGregor?
A fight involving Conor McGregor and Rafael dos Anjos will not happen yet, however fans saw a great match back n the UFC 196 battle. The Brazilian fighter insisted that he just wants to continue fighting in the ring, despite his injuries.
As of this date, Rafael dos Anjos is still training and getting ready for his debut this year in the new division.
