Great news for fans of "Stranger Things" star David Harbour, who plays the Sheriff Hopper on the 2016 breakout TV series. He is currently in the running to play the role of Cable in the highly anticipated "Deadpool 2," the Ryan Reynolds-produced sequel to the 2016 film. While the film doesn't have a target release date set as of now, it's already in the early stages of development.
Back in February, NME reported that Kerry Washington was joining the cast of "Deadpool 2" in the role of Domino. No confirmation has arrived from her reps, however, but fans are hopeful that there is some truth to it. More recently, it was reported that "Stranger Things" star David Harbour might play Cable in the Ryan Reynolds-produced sequel.
According to Collider, production for "Deadpool 2" is already looking at "Stranger Things" star David Harbour to play Cable in the upcoming sequel. Harbour isn't a stranger to superhero films. In fact, he played Dexter Tolliver in last year's "Suicide Squad." If he lands this role, this marks his crossover to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Reports said that Harbour has already screen tested together with Ryan Reynolds for the part of Cable in "Deadpool 2" and is still waiting for the production's final say. In addition, Michael Shannon was also in the running for the role, but could not pursue it due to his schedule.
