'Gotham' Season 3 News & Update: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Alexander Siddig Heading To FOX Series As League Of Shadows Leader

"Gotham" season 3 won't return until April, but here is something new to look forward to look forward to when the show returns after its winter break. "Game of Thrones" actor Alexander Siddig is heading to the FOX series as the League of Shadows leader, Ra’s Al Ghul. The character has been in the Batman universe since 1971 and is soon making his way back to TV in "Gotham" season 3.

According to Deadline, "Game of Thrones" actor Alexander Siddig has been cast in the role of the League of Shadows leader, Ra's Al Ghul. The English-Sudanese actor is best known for his roles in the TV series "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and the film "Kingdom of Heaven." Of course, he's also known for playing Prince Doran Martell in HBO's "Game of Thrones."

The report indicated that while Ra’s Al Ghul previously appeared in The CW's "Arrow," it will be the first time the character is portrayed in FOX's "Gotham." Per Variety, Alexander Siddig's arrival to "Gotham" season 3 is very timely, as he is the man behind the Court of Owls. He will become Bruce Wayne's "most dangerous adversary" to date, as he is the leader of the large international criminal organization.

Siddig will be playing the role across David Mazouz, who is the face of the young Batman in "Gotham" season 3. Alexander Siddig's Ra’s al Ghul isn't the first, as Liam Neeson played the role back in 2005 for "Batman Begins" and 2012 for "The Dark Knight Rises." The role was also filled by Matt Nable in The CW's Arrow.

Now that "Game of Thrones" actor Alexander Siddig heading to FOX series as the League of Shadows leader, what will become of "Gotham" season 3? The show returns on April 24.
