‘Saturday Night Live’ Pete Davidson Opens Up On Sobriety, Past Substance Use
Pete Davidson, the youngest cast member of "Saturday Night Live," has officially announced that he is on a hiatus from the spotlight to sober up. On his Instagram post, he said that he is "happy and sober for the first time in eight years."

The "SNL" star did such, so that his fans will know that he is just doing fine since he hasn't been seen for a while. Getting clean, according to Pete Davidson, wasn't easy but considered himself to be a "lucky man" with great friend and a great girlfriend who are behind him.
He also gave appreciation to his followers. His post was then followed by a photo of himself and his girlfriend with a caption that says, "Luckiest guy in the world."
Pete Davidson has also shared about his struggles with his health. Fortunately for him, he had Kid Cudi to serve as an inspiration, crediting the rapper with saving him from committing suicide. "I would've killed myself," he said in a radio interview back in Oct. last year. When asked about Cudi going to rehab, he said, "It's kind of comforting to know your hero goes through the same stuff you do."
Medical Marijuana To Treat Crohn's Disease
High Times got a chance to talk to Pete Davidson about his use of medical marijuana to combat Crohn's disease. "I wouldn't be able to perform on [Saturday Night Live] if I couldn't smoke weed," he shared. "My stomach would be in pain all day and I wouldn't be able to eat, but then I'd smoke and I can eat and do my shows," he added, referencing to his disease that causes chronic inflammation in the digestive tract.
Pete Davidson, when not busy with "Saturday Night Live," is busy being an outspoken advocate of medical marijuana. He even got the respect of Lorne Michaels.
He also believes that the New York State medical marijuana program is lacking and takes time to understand. "Pete's really focused for someone who mostly talks about how much pot he smokes," Michaels said about Pete Davidson, according to New York Times.
