Kristen Stewart arrived on the red-carpet premiere of her new movie, "Personal Shopper," wearing an all-black ensemble. But what got the press and fans buzzing at The Carondelet House in Los Angeles was her stunning new look: a platinum-blonde shaved haircut.

The New Look

The brand-spanking-new Kristen Stewart look was made possible by celebrity hairstylist Bridget Brager, who posted on her Instagram account that they wanted to "try something different" for Stewart, per USA Today. The dramatic makeup highlighted her eyes and completed the look.

Why She Shaved Her Head

According to The Telegraph, reports are circulating that apparently, Kristen Stewart’s new hair is for her upcoming movie, "Underwater." The movie, as the title suggests, is set underwater and she plays part of a crew of scientists who struggles for survival after their team meets adversity in their underwater laboratory. She is joined in the movie by TJ Miller and "Game of Thrones" star, Jessica Henwick, which will conclude filming very soon.

Kristen Stewart Hairstyles In Her Career

Since catapulting to fame in the "Twilight" franchise, Kristen Stewart has sported several looks. She started out with the long brunette hair in the "Twilight" movies, then gradually moved on to short cropped hair, alternating between blonde and brunette colors. Just earlier in the day before the premiere, she had been sighted with the slick brushed back hairdo, that was why onlookers were surprised when she showed up on the red carpet with her most stunning hairstyle yet.

Critically Acclaimed

Kristen Stewart’s performance in "Personal Shopper" was critically acclaimed at last year’s Cannes Film Festival in France. This collaboration with Olivier Assayas was booed though at the film festival, which critics and viewers attributed to the unclear ending. The thriller revolves around Kristen Stewart’s character as a fashion assistant who can see spirits. The film also competed for the Palme d’Or.
