Spoilers for "Criminal Minds" Season 12 seem to suggest that though Matthew Gray Gubler's Spencer Reid dodged his predicament, he is yet to be out of the woods. Get to know if there are darker days ahead of Reid.

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 May Have An Intriguing Storyline For Reid

The brilliant BAU agent is behind bars but it seems Reid has to go through even greater ordeals in "Criminal Minds" Season 12, Yahoo! News wrote. Showrunner Erica Messer confirmed the apprehensions of many fans by saying quietly, "No....You haven't. You have not."

Messer further revealed that there will be many internal, as well as external factors that are yet to be added to the storyline. There are many fans who are fiercely protective of Reid's character. So, it appears that Messer is enjoying the chance to explore the show's storyline with a fan favorite character.

It looks like the show will use the vulnerability of the character to a certain point, to keep the attention of the viewers intact. Messer added, "And to take our most vulnerable hero and put him in the last place you'd ever want him to be has got people talking, which is great. We want that."

Are viewers too anxious after seeing Reid's current predicament? The downward trend of the show has also been a matter of concern for many. Could Thomas Gibson's ouster be a contributing factor to this?
