Coffee and chocolate lovers rejoice as it was reported that mocha lattes are good for the brain. A study suggests that mocha lattes boost the brain's productivity and memory retention.
The study that was done at Clarkson University and the University of Georgia pointed out that having a mix of coffee and chocolate can do wonders to the brain. The research that was published in the journal BMC Nutrition stated that the coca-coffee combination is an absolute brain food.
The Readers Digest mentioned that mocha lattes boost brain production and provide better cognitive work. It was mentioned that the caffeine-cocoa combination provides a great balance as coffee alone can cause anxiety. The researchers came up with a positive output in regards to their research's results.
The researchers asked the subjects to consume brewed cocoa, caffeine without coca, and the placebo. The participants were then asked to do a series of tests that evaluates their cognitive tasks and their mood.
It was also pointed out that cocoa balances the caffeine's kick, which usually causes anxiety. Cocoa reportedly increases blood flow, which increases cognition as well as the person's attention span. It was mentioned that mixing caffeine with cocoa effectively balances the caffeine's effect on the drinker.
"Acute effects of brewed cocoa consumption on attention, motivation to perform cognitive work, and feelings of anxiety, energy, and fatigue," Ali Boolani, the lead researcher of the study stated. "Cocoa increases cerebral blood flow, which increases cognition and attention. Caffeine alone can increase anxiety. This particular project found that cocoa lessens caffeine's anxiety-producing effects-a good reason to drink mocha lattes!"
The researchers came to the conclusion that the study ended up with a positive turn-out. Caffeine itself is already heavenly for most, but mixing it with chocolate produces superb results.
