US Finds Out That Russian Spies Are Hackers Of Yahoo! User Accounts; Here's All You Need To Know
Yahoo! is one of the most prevalent websites when it comes to research and email services. When using the World Wide Web or Internet, Yahoo! is still competing with other web sites on the global market as our technology evolves.
A few years back, Yahoo! was attacked by hackers in 2014 and after three years, the US government found out who the hackers are. Let's know further details about it.
Yahoo! User Accounts Invaded By Hackers?
The members of the Russian intelligence agency joined with illegal hackers, according to DOJ administrators stating the charges. Beforehand, Yahoo! stated that "state-sponsored" hackers were behind the 2014 infringement, affecting 500 million accounts.
The suspects are also asserted to have scapegoated Google accounts. Hacking was focused on Russian and US state leaders, including security, consular, and military employees, as stated by the country's Department Of Justice, per a report posted by BBC.
What Did The Hackers Steal From Yahoo!?
As the Justice Department laid the cases against Russian spies, the allegations also unveiled significant supplementary details about who they supposedly scapegoated and what they are said to have taken. In a 39-page statement, the government outlined a series of criminal pursuits that involved spying on officials, a spam service, a project to sell erectile dysfunction pills, and the use of Yahoo! records to scapegoat different online services, such as Google.
According to a report from Fortune, as the statement explains, one of the hackers explored discredited Yahoo! email records for words like visa and MasterCard. The hackers also targeted some Apple services like ITunes.
The presentment also indicated various patterns of the hackers using Yahoo! data as a tool to target the Gmail records of several people. This occurred when those people gave a Gmail account as an option email to Yahoo!.
