It seems that there's a really, really long way to go before fans would get to see the final "The Batman" film make it to the big screen. Since it was announced, the project has been plagued with obstacle after obstacle, not even beginning with star Ben Affleck's departure as director.

What's Next For "The Batman"?

The latest news surrounding the film is that a re-write by Matt Reeves is reportedly underway. Fans need not worry though, as the Ben Affleck movie gets "Logan" director's seal of approval. James Mangold even took to Twitter to share his thoughts.

In a tweet, "Logan" director, James Mangold said that his friend and screenwriter/director Matt Reeves, who is the name behind the "Planet of the Apes" films, is currently "starting work" on the new Ben Affleck movie. According to Screenrant, Reeves has replaced Affleck in the directorial chair, but fans are somewhat relieved of this development.

In fact, it seems that he has started re-writing the film already. According to Comicbook, "The Batman" has been plagued with so much controversy, thanks to the many changes that it required over the last few months.

In fact, production will begin later in 2018, which means that the Ben Affleck movie will probably be out in 2019 at the earliest. The delay is also caused in part by Reeves' schedule, which requires him to be on hand for "Planet of the Apes."

In the meantime, "The Batman" star Ben Affleck assured fans that the delay in production has nothing to do with his recent stint in rehab.
