Fans of "Home and Away" can finally take a sigh of relief. After all, it looks like a happy ending awaits Evie MacGuire.

Wedding Bells In "Home and Away"

Soon, viewers can expect another wedding in Summer Bay. Evie (Phillippa Northeast) and her boyfriend Matt (Alec Snow) are ready to walk down the aisle next week, before they say goodbye to Bay and proceed towards Vietnam in "Home and Away" . It was Evie who proposed to Matt, and the moment he agreed, they made up their minds to have their wedding at the last moment, so that they can share the most memorable day of their lives with their loved ones.

Northeast said in an interview, "Rekindling this love with Matt proved to Evie that love still does exist and still does have happy endings. She wanted to take hold of that," Back to the Bay cited TV Week.

However, like many other weddings, the duo experienced a setback. Zac (Charlie Clausen), who is Evie's uncle, informed that he would not be able to attend his niece's wedding. He calls Evie to tell her that his flight got delayed.

Evie is heartbroken, as her uncle is the only member of the family who was supposed to be present at her wedding. Zac also tells his niece not to cancel the wedding and she makes up her mind to proceed with the ceremony.

It will be Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) who will officiate Evie's wedding ceremony. But Zac manages to attend her reception before the day ends. He presents Evie's parents' wedding rings to her and lets her know how happy they would be.

There have been some reports about the actress quitting the long-running show in Australia, which first surfaced in Oct. last year. According to another report from Back to the Bay, the actress' management agency has updated her CV to look out for potential new assignments.
