'Outlander' Star Sam Heughan Puts Bet On Gold Cup Horse Named After His Show; Richard Rankin Teases Roger's Most Hilarious Scene

"Outlander" star, Sam Heughan seems to have immersed himself into the spirit of Cheltenham Gold Cup. The actor is backing a horse named after his hit show. Meanwhile, Richard Rankin has teased the most hilarious scene for Roger in Season 3.

Sam Heughan Shows Support For A Horse Named After Starz's "Outlander"

Heughan, who portrays the lead role of Jamie Fraser in the "Outlander" series, recently took to social media to show his support for an Irish stud named after the show. When a producer  took to Twitter and said, "Let's have a 'wee' bet on a outlander running at Cheltenham this afternoon," the actor tweeted."Yes! Looks like good odds! 10-1"

Incidentally, the said horse has emerged victorious in nine out of the 20 races it participated in, Daily Record wrote. Many other punters were prompt in joining Heughan to take a chance on the horse.

Richard Rankin Hints At His Character's Funniest Scene in "Outlander" Season 3

In an interview given to the series' biggest fan group in Germany, Richard Rankin teased that Roger's most hilarious scene will be feature in "Outlander" Season 3The actor interacted with a fan group called "German Sassenachs." Rankin who portrays the role of Roger Walefield, was in Germany and decided to answer their queries.

What must have come as a pleasant surprise to the actor, was when the group gifted him a bag of goodies. The gifts included a t-shirt with the fan group's logo on it and chocolates. Apparently, the actor freaks on chocolates and said that they will be finished by the end of the day.

Rankin also praised Diana Gabaldon, the author of the "Outlander" series for depicting Scotland and the people of the country so well. This is a great feat, as she did not even visit Scotland while penning the first book in this series. She did most of her research remotely.

The actor hinted that the most hilarious scene for his character will appear in the upcoming season. However, the actor did not elaborate on it but said he will speak on it further when the scene gets aired. The entire interview of the actor has been uploaded on the German fan group's YouTube channel.

"Outlander" Season 3 is slated to premiere in Sept. this year.
