"'Young & Hungry" Season 5 Premiere Recap

In "Young & Hungry" Season 5 Episode 1 "Young & Punch Card," Gabi (Emily Osment) and Josh (John Sadowski) decided to have a "friends with benefits" relationship. They wanted to prove to their friends that it is possible. In order to do so, they used their personalized punch cards.

Sofia (Aimee Carrero) thought that Gabi and Josh are on a slippery slope. According to her, they won't last and their feelings will definitely surface in the future.

The Secret Itch

Elliot (Rex Lee) noticed the former's use of cheap detergent for their boss' laundry. Yolanda (Kym Whitley) added that she always receives a "monthly" budget" for cleaning necessities. Upon learning about this, Elliot wanted his share.

However, their secret will have an adverse effect on everyone. It only made Gabi and Josh's arrangement more complicated. Why? Because the "Tude" detergent causes itch but they cannot tell their boss.

An Awkward Moment For The Couple

When the two said that it might be STD, Josh called the hospital for a check up. The doctor said that he needs some photos to check his condition. This only made Josh really nervous because Gabi might be sleeping with another guy.

Gabi, on the other hand, saw Josh as he took some photos of his package. Sofia said that this might be a problem. As a result, the two wanted to know if Josh is sleeping around as well.

Gabi And Josh Learn The Truth

Josh barged into their apartment as Gabi helps Sofia with her own problem. Yolanda and Elliot also reveal their secret. It was the cheap detergent that caused the itch and not Gabi.

The episode ended with the two patching up their friendship again. They realized that they can do it without any hassle of an ordinary affair.

Gabi and her boss decided not to celebrate the day of love. When one of them brought a gift for the other, she immediately panicked. She will seek the help of Ms. Wilson (Betty White) for an advice.

Based on the teaser trailers, Sofia and Elliot will have their own problems on the said day. It seems that Sofia is desperate to receive some love after her disastrous date from the last episode. Meanwhile, Elliot will have a fight with his partner over a gift.
