"Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 17 will focus on Shaw and how his entry into the jail will make Spencer Reid's life hell. Of course, fans are already very much eager to see the upcoming episodes of the series, now that they know that Shemar Moore is to reprise Derek Morgan's character in the finale. 

'Criminal Minds' Season 12 Episode 17 Synopsis

The upcoming episode reveals that Reid and the FBI agent Calvin Shaw meet in prison. However, Shaw is hiding something from Reid, reports TV Line. And the sneak peek reveals that the "mouthbreather" Alvez is quite aware of what Shaw is hiding.

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 17 titled, "In The Dark," promo shows that Luke (Adam Rodriguez) comes to jail to meet Shaw (Harold Perrineau). Luke warns Shaw that if because of him, the life of Reid becomes endangered, he will ensure that Shaw suffers. The sneak peeks shows harsh expressions on Luke's face, indicating that he is very serious about the threat.

It is quite possible that in the "Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 17, Shaw might tell him that he is not playing games with Reid. The last episode showed that Reid had to face a vicious attack, which Shaw was unable to stop.

Shaw, however, succeeded in transferring Reid from the general prisoners. However, later on, two big criminals beat Reid to unconsciousness.

The teaser of "Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 17 shows that Reid is back on his feet however not fully recovered from the attack. The BAU team is trying its best to get him out of prison but it is not going to be easy.

'Criminal Minds' Season 12 Finale- Shemar Moore To Return

Shemar Moore is returning to "Criminal Minds" Season 12 finale and will reprise his role of Derek Morgan, reports Deadline. Moore left the series citing personal reasons. However, he has now agreed to be part of the finale episode.

Hence, fans can also expect him to be a part of the next season, if the show gets an extension after "Criminal Minds" Season 12 finale.
