Writer George R. R. Martin has recently acknowledged that he is struggling to complete "Winds of Winter," due to his online battle with some journalists. Moreover, it appears that the writer is having hush-hush meetings with HBO on the possibility of a new television series after the completion of "GoT."

"Winds of Winter" Writer Not Amused with Some Journalists

On Mar. 16, Martin launched the "Stagecoach Foundation". The project is dedicated to promote more number of television and film productions in his home town at an affordable price.

But ever since then, there seems to be an online tussle with some journalists since he was not happy with the way the event was reported, Daily Telegraph reported. Martin mentioned:

"I am no fan of what passes for journalism on the Internet but I have to admit I've been taken aback by the sheer amount of bullshit that's been proliferating all over the web about our Stagecoach a Foundation initiative.

It is obvious that Martin is quite pleased with his initiative but it has been sort of a distraction as his readers want him to fast  complete his work on "Winds of Winter." The writer also added while responding to a question on his story that he needs more hours in a day.

Martin further said he needs more energy since he is getting exhausted more quickly than he used to be earlier. He further teased the possibility of a new project in the pipeline by stating that he is into "lots of stuff with HBO that I cannot talk about yet." Incidentally, "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is slated to premiere in July. On the other hand, season 8 will have only six episodes.

Martin Explains Why He Takes More Time to Complete His Books

"Winds of Winter" writer George R. R. Martin also explained why he takes time to finish off his books, Culturess noted. He reasoned that it is so since he is not an architect. Rather he sees himself as a gardener.

He tried to explain that he does not believe in the idea of first plotting the shape of his stories and then do a fill in the blanks sort of an exercise. Rather he allows his story to grow naturally. He then prefers to trim and prune them into lovely creations.
