'Outlander' Season 3 Spoilers: Sam Heughan's Jamie Fraser Is Inspired By Diana Gabaldon's Husband

Diana Gabaldon, the author of the "Outlander" series revealed that Sam Heughan's Jamie Fraser is inspired by her husband. Meanwhile, know why "Outlander "Episode 7 of Season 1 is regarded by many as one of the most memorable ones in the series.

Gabaldon was answering questions by her fans on Twitter. She revealed some interesting tidbits about Sam Heughan's character in the series, The Scottish Sun reported.  It all started when Jenny Jeffries, one of the users on Twitter told her, "I would like to hang out with some of the men in your life. I mean meet them." She added, "Jamie came from all of them, right?"

The best-seller writer had something interesting to offer as a response. She said Jamie's character in "Outlander" was mostly inspired by her own husband, though she generally gets along with men. It was sheer magic since her fans simply flocked to her tweet.

Susan Vaughan, a user on Twitter said, "You have a rare man there Diana. What a keeper." Mary Silver tweeted, "You are a lucky woman DG." A third user Elizabeth Hefferman mentioned, "Blessed, I see Jamie in mine a lot." Gabaldon also shared how she prepared herself for the filming of "Outlander" Season 3 in South Africa.

The writer added that this will be the first time she would visit the country. Interestingly, though, the writer had mentioned on an earlier occasion that Jamie Fraser's inspiration came from one of the episodes of "Doctor Who."

While the fans are anxiously waiting for the third installment of the Starz drama, here is why many regard season 1 episode 7 as one of the best episodes in the series. Episode 7 was titled "The Wedding" and is regarded as an episode with one of the most realistic and hot love making scenes that have been ever shot for TV, Culturess wrote.

This much-anticipated episode was written by Anne Kenney and was directed by Anna Foerster. This talented duo simply changed the rules of the game as reports said that it was a great episode. Though this episode was not lifted from the book directly, many claimed that it was better than the text version.
