Drake 'More Life' Album Lands No. 1 In Billboard; Rapper Hits Seventh Top Spot
Drake "More Life" album has recently landed in the number one spot for Billboard charts, making it the rapper's seventh time on top. The rapper's new album has also broke streaming record, as it climbs to Billboard's number 1. It has earned over 505,000 equivalent album units already.
In the new streaming records, Drake "More Life" album has pegged with 257,000 units. This is through the 384.8 million streams of the songs he has in the album. This record bested his previous "Views" album, which recorded a whopping 245.1 million song streams.
Drake "More Life" Album Breaks Records
A Rap Up report said that the Drake "More Life" album is his seventh straight No. 1 in Billboard top charts. This also means he, Eminem, and Kanye West are tied in the second spot for most number one spot in the charts' history in the hip hop artists category.
The top spot for the category still belongs to Jay-Z, who has 13. For the latest Billboard 200 charts, Drake "More Life" album is followed by Ed Sheeran's latest album, and Rick Ross' "Rather You Than Me."
Moreover, USA Today revealed that the Drake "More Life" album also broke the record of having the most streams in a day. It has recorded over 90 million streams in 24 hours, since it was dropped in Apple Music. He bested Ed Sheeran's "Divide" album, which previously noted 57 million on Spotify.
Drake "More Life" Not An Album But A Playlist
While many consider Drake "More Life" as an album, the rapper said it is just mere playlist. It will be available on Mar. 31 in CD format.
Meanwhile, Drake just cancelled a supposed performance in Amsterdam, as per doctors' advise. The rapper blamed some sushi he ate before the performance, which made him ill, Independent UK said in a report.
