"Legion" stars Dan Stevens in the role of David Haller. He is the mutant son of X-Men's Professor Charles Xavier. Just like his father, David possesses some superhuman psychic abilities.
When he was still young, he learned that he had schizophrenia. This led to his trip to several hospitals before meeting his "dream girl." His other well-known powers are telekinesis and telepathy.
"Legion" Season 1 Episode 8 "Chapter 8" will pick up after the events of the first 7 episodes. The official synopsis reveals that David will have to face the biggest challenge in his life. Is this about his fight with Shadow King?
Shadow King's Real Identity Revealed In "Legion" Season 1 Episode 7
"Legion" provided several questions on several subplots including the Shadow King's identity. The series then revealed that the Devil (Aubrey Plaza) is Amahl Farouk/Shadow King.
In "Legion Season 1 Episode 7 "Chapter 7," Cary Loudermilk (Bill Irwin) and Oliver Bird (Jemaine Clement) were the ones who found out the real identity of the show's antagonist.They will help David in keeping the Shadow King in control with the use of Cary's device. Unfortunately, Lenny beat them to it and placed them in a mental loop with Division Three.
Shadow King - Professor X Connection
According to Collider, Shadow King first met a young Charles during the latter's trip to Egypt. The crimelord asked Charles if he wanted to join him in his evil deeds. But, the telepathic mutant refused.
Despite having similar powers, Charles successfully defeated his rival. The Professor's battle with him led him to build X-Men. However, he did not stop the Shadow King from freeing his consciousness.
Shadow King's Origin In "Chapter 8" Of "Legion" Season 1
"Chapter 7" also shared that the villain has been living inside David's mind. He will take on a larger and grotesque appearance as a parasite.
“I did respond to the idea that whatever was inside David had been feeding on him all this time and, as a result, there was something engorged and he was reaching this outrageous state,” Hawley said.
In an interview with Polygon, "Fargo" showrunner Noah Hawley talked about his inspiration for the character. He got inspired from the My 600-lbs Life craze and a "fear" poem from Sigmund Freud.
