'Aquaman' News & Update: Jason Momoa Theoretically Rides Sharks In CinemaCon Concept Art Video
Is it us or has DC getting more buzz this year than Marvel? Sure, there's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," "Spider-Man: Homecoming," and "Thor: Ragnarok" this year, but DC seems to be pulling moviegoers to the direction of "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League," both arriving this year as well.
After those offerings, the "Justice League" squad will get their own standalone films, including Jason Momoa's "Aquaman," which arrives in Dec. 2018. The latest news surrounding the highly anticipated film is that Jason Momoa rides sharks in CinemaCon concept art video.
"Aquaman" Concept Art
According to Screenrant, the DC Extended Universe took the opportunity to showcase a first ever look at "Aquaman." Fans must note, however, that this is only concept art, as Jason Momoa and the rest of production will begin filming the movie this week. The CinemaCon concept art video featured James Wan doing voiceovers, explaining that this film could not have been created five years ago because of the lack of technology.
The "Aquaman" CinemaCon concept art video featured sharkj riding, underwater battles, and massive sea creatures that will definitely inspire once the film hits theaters in Dec. 2018. As per Gizmodo, James Wan explained that his goal for this movie was to "create a dogfight in outer space." He also unsurprisingly shared that the film will be an origins story about the titular character.
James Wan On Jason Momoa
"Aquaman" director James Wan also gushed about Jason Momoa, describing him as "larger than life" (literally?) and is the perfect man to play the Atlantian superhero. "Aquaman" hits theaters on Dec. 21, 2018, together with Amber Heard's Mera, Willem Dafoe's Dr. Vulko, and Patrick Wilson's Orm. For now, fans can catch "Justice League," which arrives on Nov. 17, and "Wonder Woman," which opens on June 2. To keep up with all things DC Extended Universe, keep this page bookmarked.
