'Grey's Anatomy' Star Ellen Pompeo Shares Directorial Experience; Diane's Condition Could Be Critical
Ellen Pompeo has finally donned the hat of a director after working in a lead role in "Grey's Anatomy" for 13 long years. Meanwhile, Diane's condition worsens though she is in the hospital undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

A month ago, Ellen Pompeo was spotted wearing a T-shirt and a pair of jeans in Hollywood instead of her signature style clothes. After all, she was on double duty for ABC's hospital drama, "Grey's Anatomy." The actress made her directorial debut for one of the show's episodes, while her co-stars fondly referred to her as an "actor's director."
This is the first time Pompeo will be working behind the camera after performing innumerable surgeries in the hit medical drama for 13 yearrs. The actress was seen giving direction on her visions for the scenes. The episode promises to be an emotional one with a mix of humor, which was the trademark of the early season of "Grey's Anatomy."
Incidentally, Ellen Pompeo is highly inspired by a director and executive producer of the show, Debbie Allen, Hollywood Reporter noted. The actress is also motivated by Shonda Rhimes, the creator of the show.
Pompeo was not exactly thrilled initially at the prospect of adding direction to her resume but she changed her mind later on. But spoilers are teasing that her directorial debut will be one of the most emotional episodes of the season.
She had told the same outlet in Feb., "I have a new baby at home, two other adorable little kids, a husband, three dogs, four chickens and a fish and I told Debbie that I couldn't possibly be here another minute than I already am."
"Grey's Anatomy" Spoilers: Diane's Health Condition Deteriorates
Meanwhile, Thursday's (Mar. 30) episode of "Grey's Anatomy" is titled "Be Still, My Soul." Diane's (La Tanya Richardson) health condition will further worsen. Maggie's mother is under the care of the reliable doctors in Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital and yet to make her condition is not getting better, Entertainment Tonight reported.
Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Meredith (Pompeo) try to put their heads together on how to go ahead with the treatment of Diane's breast cancer. Till now they are not getting the expected results. Cancer may spread to other parts of Diane's body if she does not respond to the treatment.
