‘Criminal Minds’ Season 12 Episode 18 Review: Reid Spencer’s Predicament Continues, Rossi’s Ends

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 18 has featured Reid Spencer's continued predicament behind bars. Meanwhile, the BAU tried to hunt down another unsub who looked like an urban vampire.

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 18 Recap: BAU Stalks Deadly Unsub

Episode 18 saw the emergence of another unsub, who was at least somewhat predictable. The character in question (Malone) resembled an urban vampire for obvious reasons. He suffers from some rare and vague blood disorder and has been looking out for that perfect blood that will cure his symptoms since last two years, TV Fanatic noted.

But, it appears that he went in the wrong directions. He ended up getting blood from runaways and many of them were drug users. The end result was that he got their polluted blood, which did more harm to him than any good.

Meanwhile, Katie has been highly stressed about the fact that her parents divorced one another. She was on her way to visit her dad but moves into the hunting grounds of Malone by mistake.

For Malone, she is the perfect pincushion, as he needs that precious blood for his system. Surprisingly though, he lets her go, making an error in judgment that she will return,

Eventually, the team gets down to basics and does some good police work. Malone dies after an encounter in "Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 18.

Spencer is really having a bad time since his friend was murdered because of him and in front of him. His conscience must be too troubled at this point of time.

Moreover, Rossi had been in a real dilemma as to whether he should go the jail and visit Spencer, CarterMatt mentioned. It is not that he does not want to meet Spencer but feels that he would not be of much help to Spencer. However, Rossi has a change of heart when Prentiss tells him that Spencer is having difficulty in sleeping and wants to see him.

He finally drops by the prison to meet Spencer. Spencer's happiness knew no bounds as he almost smiled after a long time. When Rossi asks him whether he is getting any help, Spencer tells him that he is into journal writing and is also undergoing group therapy.

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 finale episode is slated to air at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10 on CBS.
