"Westworld" Season 1 Finale Review
Fans will agree that "Westworld" Season 1 was one of the most popular shows in the history of HBO. All through its ten-week run, the series was not of the most discussed shows on the net, ComicBook.com wrote. The show is followed by millions of fans from all over the globe due to its cliffhangers, theories, and twists.
Jonathan Nolan, the co-creator of the series was present at the PaleyFest as part of the "Westworld" panel. Nolan agreed that fans were right in their theory about the action Maeve (Thandie Newton) took when season 1 ended. Incidentally, Maeve was supposed to leave the show after the season 1 finale.
In the finale episode, Maeve had hopped off a train before it left to track down her daughter. However, it was unclear whether Maeve took that decision on her freewill or not. It could have as a result of her programming.
What is clear is that, whatever prompted her to do so, Maeve appeared quite defiant and she was the first host to act in that manner. The co-creator also shared that Maeve acted out of her own will and it was not a result of Ford's programming.
Entertainment Weekly reported what Nolan revealed to the audiences in that convention. "I've been waiting for the message boards on Reddit to tell us."
"The way that we designed it and the way we shot it...that is really the first decision she's ever made." Nolan added, "For me, it's a very emotional moment in the episode because you're seeing the first freewill."
"Westworld" Season 2 Plot

But he did assure the participants that viewers can expect that season 2 will be as thrilling as its predecessor. The producers were also mum about when the production for the new season will begin.
"Westworld" Season 2 is slated to hit television screens in 2018.
