"This Is Us" Latest Update: NBC Renews Two More Seasons

Back in Jan. this year, Jennifer Salke, the entertainment chief of the NBC was all praises for the series when she declared its renewal, Salke said, "This is Us is as good as anything we've ever had. We're thrilled it renew it for two seasons and there"s no doubt it will have a long life on NBC."

The chief expressed her gratitude on behalf of her entire team at NBC and added, "We're grateful for the artistry of the cast, crew, and producers assembled by our gifted creator Dan Fogelman." She further said, "In a world where there are literally hundreds of television dramas, we're proud to have one of the very best that is also one of the highest-rated."

Fans of the show are aware that "This is Us" is a drama that has both heartbreaking and heartwarming emotions, featuring a completely unconventional family. The episodes covered interesting details about adoption, body image struggles, family, and fame while also being full of warmth send fun at times.

The show includes a great ensemble of stars like Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown - along with some gifted child actors, Den of Geek reported. Dan Fogelman, the creator has made use of different time periods in the show so that the viewers can see the struggles of the mother and father in their said, early years and the endeavors of their grown-up kids several years later.

"This is Us" Season 2: What To Expect

The recently concluded freshman season has been an emotionally taxing one. According to the show's executive producers, things could change, as "This is Us" Season 2 will try to make things lighter, CNN mentioned.

After the finale of season 1 was screened, Isaac Aptaker said, "People call the show a drake day but we're going to lean into the comedy a little more." Though there were emotions like sadness and loss that dominated the first season, the moments of togetherness that were featured created some of the best scenes in the season.

The premiere date for "This is Us" Season 2 has not been confirmed yet. But it is expected to be aired in Sept. 2017.
