BBC has announced that the premiere of "Poldark" Season 3 will air in this June - this is earlier than originally expected. Spoilers teased that the change in the date was done to prevent a clash in viewership with ITV's hit drama titled "Victoria."

Return Of "Poldark" Season 3 Earlier Than Anticipated

The new season of the hit costume drama with Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson in the lead roles, will begin in June on BBC One, instead of autumn as was earlier expected. This was revealed by RadioTimes.com in one if its reports.

A spokesperson from BBC has also confirmed this news.. "Poldark" Season 2 was aired in autumn and it faced competition from "Victoria."

However, senior sources in BBC said that their decision on season 3 was not taken to avoid a clash with the other show. Rather, they wanted their viewers to enjoy a "summer treat." It may be recollected that actress, Eleanor Tomlinson had previously said that the decision of scheduling their show against the other period drama last year was a "real shame."

Tomlinson mentioned that she thought it was a shame that the two shows ran at the same time. She added that It did not make any sense to her.

The actress also felt the decision divided the audience. She felt good that eventually they were equal and her show managed to pull through.

"Poldark" Season 3 Filming Update

Filming for the upcoming season started last Sept., Cornwall Live wrote. This was slightly earlier than when the shooting of season 2 had begun. It is being reported that this was done to film the episode in better weather and to avoid a gloomy ringer.

"Poldark" star Aidan Turner will be reprising his role in the upcoming season and supported by Eleanor Tomlinson, Heida Reed, Jack Farthing, Ruby Bentall, Luke Norris, and Caroline Blakiston, among others.
