The Royal Family’s Diet Secrets Revealed [VIDEO]
The royal family's diet secrets may come as a surprise to many. The queen is content with a simple breakfast of cereal in a Tupperware and she loves chocolate biscuit cake, the kind Prince William also prefers because of her influence, according to a former personal chef to the queen.
The British Royal Family members are known to live well and long despite living not very stress-free lives. This year, Queen Elizabeth II is turning 91 on April 21 while her husband Prince Philip is 95 years old. Perhaps their diet is the key, or not.
One of the perks of being part of the family is being able to enjoy diets of their choice but the royal family's diet secrets do not appear to be very extraordinary. A former personal chef to the queen, Darren McGrady, revealed that she has a sweet tooth. She loves chocolates, especially chocolate biscuit cake to bits, literally.
McGrady recalled how he would have to travel with a packed chocolate biscuit cake in tow when the queen went from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Palace and in many of the queen's train trips as she requested. She made sure that she got to eat the cake to the last piece. She would ask for a slice every day at the palace until it was all gone.
Prince William also developed a liking for it because he would go and have tea with the Queen and the cake was served. It was the groom's cake at his wedding, the Today reported.
The queen also loves gin cocktails, tuna sandwiches without the crust, and scrambled eggs with a grating of truffles at times.
When Princes Harry and William were young, they had taste typical of boys. They liked cheese-stuffed potato skins and pizza. Now older, Harry who works out regularly is on a dairy-free diet.
Kate Middleton cooks at home to which William would joke is the reason he does not gain much weight. When she was pregnant with Prince George, she would eat vegetarian curry made by a grocery store owner's wife.
The couple keeps themselves fit by doing exercises. She goes on raw food diet when she thinks she needs to control her weight. Just like the queen, they love desserts and it seems that George does, too, according to the E! News.
