Once she had decided to lose the excess weight she carries, the journey that followed is definitely not easy. One of the procedures she had to go through is gastric sleeve surgery, also known as sleeve gastrectomy.

This type of operation is popular for patients who are looking for a way to lose weight safely and effectively. Additionally, it does not require strict maintenance and there are lesser complications associated with the procedure for obese individuals.

The surgical weight loss procedure will be done through reducing the size of the stomach by removing a portion of it. Aside from losing the extra weight and curing obesity-related diseases, the procedure makes the patient feel less hungry and feel full sooner.

The From Not to Hot star reveals that she have thrown up from eating too much as she told the PEOPLE.com. She says even though she does not do it all the time, it makes one realize her limitations.

Following the weight loss procedures of Mama June that took 300 lbs from her original weight, she also lost weight from controlling portions of her diet and switching to foods with low carbohydrates and low sugar.

The Mama June Shannon weight loss is still an on-going work in progress as she continues to work out to maintain her current weight now that she is size four. Mama June is determined not to gain back the weight she lost after all the efforts she had poured for her wellbeing and health.
