Taylor Swift Gets Tax Break; Mansion Named Historical Landmark
A Taylor Swift Beverly Hills mansion was recently named a historical landmark. The news also comes with a benefit where the singer will be getting a tax break.
Swift's mansion in Los Angeles, which has been built since 1934, now qualifies as a historical landmark, a TMZ report said. The singer reportedly was the one who bid for its classification.
The mansion was owned by Samuel L. Goldwyn, a Hollywood producer. It was previously owned by two generations of the Goldwyn clan, until it was set in the market for sale. The singer reportedly bought the mansion in 2015 for whopping $25 million.
Taylor Swift Mansion Now Part Of History
The report noted that the mansion's architecture, as well as the mixture of designs from past owners before it was named under Taylor Swift's list of properties, made it grab the historical laurel. The period of its architecture was said to be the "driving force" that led to its new title.
By being named as a historical landmark, Taylor Swift will be receiving a huge tax break. However, she is not allowed to make any renovations in the mansion, unless she secures a permit from the Beverly Hills Historic Preservation Committee. A report from Pop Crush also mentioned that pushing for renovation in a historical landmark is a "complicated process."

Swift's Beverly Hills mansion spans 11,000 square feet with six bedrooms. Aside from her Los Angeles mansion, Swift owns on in New York City, which was featured in her album 1989. The "Bad Blood" star also has another one in Rhode Island, where she usually conducts her Fourth of July celebration.
Taylor Swift first bought a real estate property in The Adelicia building with three bedrooms. It costs $2 million. She also has a tudor-style family home in Nashville.
