Kate Middleton First Time To Appear In London Marathon; Details Here

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton is set to cheer at the sidelines for the first time for the upcoming London Marathon. Get to know more details about the event.

Along with Kate Middleton are Prince William and Prince Harry, who is an active supporter of the cause. Prince Harry is the Patron of the London Marathon Charitable Trust of charity and he yearly awards medals to marathon's winners.

According to Hello! magazine, the Duchess of Cambridge has never made an appearance in the London Marathon. For this year, she will come along with the Duke of Cambridge, which is also in line with her support on mental health campaign.

The campaign Heads Together is the marathon's charity to support. The report added that the royal family wanted to have more audience on the awareness of mental health around the world.

Prince Harry, meanwhile, appeared in a video where he relayed his message to the Virgin Money London Marathon runners. As of today, there are 39,000 registered runners for the event. Runners will also be given a Heads Together headband that they could wear on race day.

"You've been training for months and the start line for the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon is finally within sight," the royal prince told in the video. "I'm sure it will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. William, Catherine and I will be there to cheer you all on."

Kate Middleton, Prince Harry Support Mental Health Campaign

Prince Harry added that they would like to impart the message on mental health and that he calls on people to talk and address the issues surrounding it. He called on runners to not only focus on physical healthy but mental health as well, which has of similar importance, Harper's Bazaar said in a report.

Before the London Marathon, Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Prince Harry also participated at the hosting of Team Heads Together runners at the Kensington Palace. The 2017 London Marathon will be on Apr. 23, Sunday.
