Teen Accidentally Shoots Himself While Posing with a Loaded Gun on Instagram Live [VIDEO]

A 13-year-old boy from Forest Park, Georgia accidentally shoots himself while posing with a gun on Instagram live.

Malachi Hemphill lay dead on his bedroom floor when the gun he was holding a pose went off. He was on Instagram live on the course of the event and only did the video stopped when her sister noticed that his phone was lying beside him and was streaming live, the New York Post said in a report.

Shaniqua Stephens, Malachi's mother, said that she have seen her son taking out the trash, minutes before she heard the loud boom coming from her son's room. She and her daughter rushed to Malachi's room but it was locked so they forcefully entered and found him drenched in his own blood.

Her son was rushed to Grady Hospital in Atlanta but he was already pronounced dead. The teen accidentally shoots himself while playing pose with a gun that was loaded. Stephens said that something was amiss when she heard that loud noise, the Daily Mail noted.

In an interview with WXIA, Stephens said that the pain she is feeling is a pain that will never go away since Malachi was her only son. She said he was too young to be dead and the thought of seeing Malachi's body on the floor will never leave her brain.

Roughly 50 kids who were watching Malachi's live video on Instagram rushed to their home when the incident happened. At the moment, police are still investigating on how Malachi got ahold of the gun.

Stephens said in a statement that parents should watch over their kids. She urged guardians to monitor their children's phones and their children's activities as well.

Reported incidents of adolescents live streaming their own suicides in social media have plagued the internet but Stephens was sure that her son's death was accidental.
