American singer-songwriter, John Mayer, admits that he's obsessed with himself and everything that he is doing, the NPR reports after an interview with the singer. The 39-year-old Mayer, whose latest album entitled "The Search For Everything," said that his music is always on his mind.

He said he's all about himself and he's self-centered but he doesn't think that everything he's doing is great but he thinks about everything he does all the time, the Page Six  noted. John Mayer, who has dated both Taylor Swift and singer Katy Perry, said that he has found solace and peace in his music. He considers that he is obsessed with himself but thinking about his craft keeps him going. He called his new album the chronicle of him discovering and reconciling with pain, in an interview with NPR Music

According to Mayer, all he does is think about what he's doing and it's a horrible, horrible experience. Despite being entirely consumed and overwhelmed with thoughts about his career, music, and craft, Mayer revealed that he has never been more excited to see what comes next for him and what he loves doing.

The interview went on with Mayer saying that each morning he wakes up, he gets to his feet and reminds himself that he has got another day where he can discover how to live. He never forgets to enjoy each day and does not consider himself narcissistic- he's just too in love with the work that he is doing. He also said that his health is in his music.

Mayer added that one's true life exists in between the period of time when one stops being an ass and then something kills your belief and hope. He said that's the beginning and as for him, he just started his life.
