"The Winds of Winter" book has been delayed yet again and there is no confirmed date announced for its release. Reports indicated that the author George R.R. Martin is quite busy with his schedule and hence, the delay.

'The Winds Of Winter' Author Busy With Other Projects

According to Christian Today, Martin is busy with other projects, including "Stagecoach Foundation" that was launched on Mar. 16 this year. It is an organization that aims to bring Santa Fe, the hometown of Martin into the limelight. Moreover, the acclaimed author of "Game of Thrones" is also working on another television adaptation for HBO.

With such multiple projects on hand, the writer is reportedly unable to devote enough time for the completion of "The Winds of Winter." This book is the sixth in the series. The fifth installment of the series titled, "A Dance With Dragons" was released in July 2011.

The popular television series, "Game of Thrones" has been adapted from this series, but since Martin could not complete "The Winds of Winter" on time, the storyline of the series has already taken over the novels.

When Will 'The Winds of Winter' Release?

George R.R. Martin has been criticized heavily by fans because he keeps on announcing the release date of his book and never publishes on time. In his Jan. blog post, the author said that he will complete the book within 2017. A recent update suggested that he may release the book in 2018 on his 70th birthday.

Previously, the author announced that few of the characters will be getting a good amount of importance in the "The Winds of Winter." According to him, Arya Stark, Sansa Stark, Aeron Geryjoy, Arianne Martell, Victorian Greyjoy, Theon Greyjoy, Barristan Selmy, Cersei Lannister, and Tyrion Lannister will have their own chapters in the book.

So, it is quite possible the "The Winds of Winter" storyline may revolve around them. Fans can however still enjoy the speculation game related to the book, which has been created by web designer Vasanth Seshadri.

Titled, "Theories are Coming," per The Verge - the game consists of generator pairs that give you a choice of 10 popular characters of "Game of Thrones" and you have to relate them to 10 most controversial events in the series. Stay tuned for more details.
